چکیده
Objective: to evaluate the rate of healing in diabetic foot ulcers treated with a biomembrane latex proteins from Calotropis procera (BioMem CpLP) when compared powdered hydrocolloid. Method: randomized controlled clinical trial, registered by Brazilian Clinical Trial Registry (REBEC), according protocol RBR-98f3j9, carried out eight people foot, clinic, March July 2019. In experimental group (n = 04), was applied; control hydrocolloid powder used. The assessed at 30 and 60 days after starting treatment. Results: no statistical differences were found between rates temporal analysis initial (p 0.726) following start treatment 0.562). Conclusion: BioMem CpLP presented similar conventional product, being an effective low cost alternative for feet.

Bacterial load predicts healing rate in neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers.
D espite improved treatment, a significant number of diabetic foot ulcers do not heal and eventually lead to amputation (1–5). The important local factors determining the healing rate of ulcers are pressure at the site of the ulcer, adequacy of blood supply, and infection. It is generally accepted that for optimal healing, infection needs to be treated. However, the definition of infection is a...

متن کاملPeak foot pressures influence the healing time of diabetic foot ulcers treated with total contact casts.
The purpose of this article is to describe the progression of ulcer healing using total contact casts (TCC) and to examine explanatory variables that may influence ulcer healing. We prospectively studied 25 diabetics with grade I (Meggitt-Wagner) plantar ulcers. All subjects received weekly contact cast changes with wound assessment. Following healing, all subjects were fitted with prescription...
